Ghold has developed an innovative manufacturing process to produce the first recyclable climbing holds. This patented technology is the result of 3 years of research and cutting-edge expertise in recyclable polymer materials.
Made-to-order on an industrial scale!
Inspired by the automotive industry, our tried-and-tested, robust manufacturing process enables us to manufacture high-quality holds on a large scale and in just a few weeks (maximum production time of one month from order confirmation). Our technology can produce made-to-order holds on an industrial scale, to best meet the different requirements of the climbing world.

Created from a recyclable thermoplastic, our high-performance material was designed to meet the technical needs of climbing.
The holds feature a tough grain, excellent mechanical properties and a dry feel for optimum grip. Tested in many climbing gyms, our material convinced climbers and route setters all over Europe: “Holds that match the best polyurethane holds on the market!”

Our holds can be recycled up to 10 times : they are produced with a high-performance material with technical and mechanical properties that are preserved during recycling cycles !

LET’S PRODUCE YOUR RECYCLABLE HOLDS
How does our manufacturing process work?
At Ghold, we’re committed to establishing real partnerships. We first take the time to discuss your needs in detail, to ensure that our production tool is adapted to your shapes and to your needs.
1 - Prototyping
To guarantee the best quality, we invite you to bring your shapes directly to our site so that our team can advise you and provide their expertise (grain, drilling, finishing of shapes, application of your logos, etc.).
2 - Production
Once we’ve received the shapes, we create the molds and the first prototypes within a month.
Once the prototypes are approved, the production starts. We produce in France, in Savoie (Chambery), and deliver throughout Europe.
3 - Recycling
Old holds are collected and returned directly to our site for recycling.
The Ghold label on all holds facilitates the sorting and recycling process.
RECYCLING AND CIRCULAR PRODUCTION
Around 7 million holds are thrown away every year, impacting badly the environment. With this in mind, Ghold has developed an innovative technology capable of manufacturing holds that are both recyclable and recycled. Climbing holds using Ghold’s technology can be recycled up to 10 times: the carbon footprint is already reduced by two with the first recycling cycle!
Our holds are a part of a circular economy
As old holds need to be recycled to reduce their environmental impact, it seemed important to us to offer a collecting and recycling solution.
Our manufacturing process is at the heart of a circular economy. We offer a free collecting service in climbing gyms. Once collected, the holds are sorted, grinded and reused into future generations of hold !
